How Members of the Public Can Celebrate Harry and Meghan's "Fun and Joyful" Wedding & Diary Update!

Kensington Palace has announced further details on how the public can join in celebrating the big day on 19 May in a statement this morning. "Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too. This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the bride and groom."

Prince Harry and Ms Markle have invited 2,640 people into the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch the arrivals of the bride and groom, and their wedding guests at the chapel and to watch the carriage procession as it departs from the castle.

This number includes 1,200 members of the public from every corner of the United Kingdom who will be nominated to attend by nine regional Lord Lieutenant offices. The couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of backgrounds and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.

200 people from charities and organisations close to Harry and Meghan, including those which the Prince serves as Patron will be invited. Other guests will include 100 pupils from two local schools, 610 Windsor Castle community members and 530 Members of the Royal Household and the Crown Estate.

Visit Windsor shared a video of the carriage procession route.

Less than 80 days until the big day! :)

Meghan to Attend Commonwealth Day Service... As previously reported by Camilla Tominey, Prince Harry and Meghan will join The Queen and senior members of the royal family for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday 12 March. Below, The Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry at the service in 2016.

More from the press release:

'Her Majesty The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, accompanied by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle, the Duke of York, the Princess Royal, the Countess of Wessex, the Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra will attend the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on Commonwealth Day – Monday 12th March.
Organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the Commonwealth Service is the largest annual inter-faith gathering in the United Kingdom. The service will be broadcast live on BBC One and across BBC World Service, in celebration of Her Majesty's lifetime commitment to the Commonwealth.
Highlights of the service include a special musical performance by artist Liam Payne and a reflection by Dr Andrew Bastawrous, an eye surgeon who turned a smartphone into an examination tool which works to combat avoidable blindness in developing counties.
Following the service, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will walk through Dean's Yard to attend a reception.'

This will be the most formal event Meghan has attended thus far. It marks Meghan's official introduction to the Commonwealth. The service is always an important date on the calendar and a celebration of Commonwealth links. We can expect to see Meghan in a hat for the service.
