SCENE 1

DAY

CAMERA FLYING OVER SNOWY CANADIAN LANDSCAPE

Narrator Rolfe Whitehouse.

"My brothers ghost has been haunting me ever since that day. ."

CAMERA FLIES OVER PRISTINE SNOWY FOREST, SLOWLY COMING TO A STRAIGHT
ROAD RUNNING THROUGH THE LANDSCAPE WITH A SIGN "DRIVER ALERT, NEXT SERVICE 410 KM, CHECK YOUR FUEL"

ON THE ROAD A CAR WITH TWO MEN IS DRIVING, SNOW BILLOWING IN ITS WAKE
AS IT HEADS TOWARDS A GAS STATION STANDING IN THE DESOLATE BARREN LANDSCAPE.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN TO THE RUSTY NINETIES MITSUBISHI PAJERO WITH DIFFERENT COLOR DOORS THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN TO HELL AND BACK.. THE CAR IS PULLING A TRAILER WITH TWO SNOW MOBILES AND ALL SORTS OF CAMPING GEAR. ALSO, THE TOP OF THE CAR IS FULL OF CAMPING EQUIPMENT.

TWO MEN SIT IN WORN SEATS TAPED WITH DUCT TAPE. BOTH ARE WEARING HEAVY SNOW GEAR, FUR LINED COATS AND THE BACK SEAT IS FULL OF BACK BAGS AND CAMPING GEAR.

THE DRIVER IS SMOKING AS ROLFE IS LOOKING OUT OF THE WINDOW. HIS FACE BEATEN BY LIFE. HIS EYES SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING OUT THERE. .

"You really think.. " Rolfe says and stops, "He is out there.", turning
his head towards Will Domik, "I saw the picture, I am telling you, I saw him."
, Will says, taking a drag from his tobacco. "I saw your brother."

"If you just knew how many times I have been looking for him, this past year.",
Rolfe says, his eyes full of doubt. "You are not the first one to tell me that you have
seen him. The authorities stopped looking for him a long time ago.", he finishes
as Will puts on a blinker and pulls on a gas station.

BOTH MEN GET OUT OF THE CAR AS WILL BEGINS TO PUT GAS IN THE CAR.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON ROLFE. WITH A PAINFUL, DOUBTING LOOK ON HIS FACE.

"The places I have been to." He stops looking all around him, as if to
remember. "I have been to Mexico, I have been to the Rockies, twice.
Once I traveled to Florida.", he laughs like it was all just a bad joke. .

"And you know why I do it", he says, "knowing well, you might be just another
con artist, looking for a fast buck.", he looks deadpan into Wills face,
as if to read him once again, if this all is just a big con. "Because of his
daughter.", he stops and gets heated. "She is in a hospital bed, dying, and
you know what", he says. "Guess who she has in her life.", he says, expecting a
answer. But Will just looks at him, without saying a word, like he has heard
this all yesterday and the previous week."Me, her mother and the hope, of seeing her father,
one last time.", he stops and kicks his foot on the ice,"I did not want to come here,
but she wanted me to give it one last try." , Rolfe quits, laughing. Then, suddenly
looking like he is about to cry.

"Man, I am telling you. I saw him", Will says and finishes tanking the car.

"Now, I gotta go. . ", he says without the expression changing on his face.

INSIDE THE GAS STATION, HAGGARD LOOKING GAS STATION ATTENDANT IS LISTENING TO RADIO, WARNING ABOUT A COLD SNAP COMING, WITH DANGEROUSLY COLD WEATHER FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS,
READING A TABLOID NEWS PAPER.

THE BELL RINGS AS ROLFE AND WILL COME IN.

THE FACE OF THE GAS STATION OWNER LIGHTS UP AS HE SEES WILL.

"Hey Will, what are you doing in these parts again?", he pauses, then looks up and
down Rolfe. "And what is this city slicker doing here, eh? It definitively is not
the tourist season.", he finishes and takes a sip from his cup of coffee.

WILL HURRIES TOWARDS THE TOILET WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT HIM.

"Hi Gordie, I gotta go take a shit real quick.", Will says and hurries to the restroom.

"Well, I hope you do not spend the whole day there, eh!", Gordie says loudly,
looking at the restroom door closing.

ROLFE JUST STANDS THERE, WATCHING AROUND HIM, AT THE SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS IN THE GAS STATION, IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS LAST RENOVATED IN THE NINETEEN EIGHTIES.

THEN HE WALKS TO THE GAS STATION OWNER AND PUTS HIS HAND TOWARDS HIM TO GREET.

THE GAS STATION OWNER SHAKES HIS HAND APPREHENSIVELY.

"Rolfe Whitehouse", Rolfe says and looks into the eyes of Gordon.

"Gordon Bearpaw", Gordon says and pauses, "But you can call me Gordie",
he finishes, with his expression turning to smile.

"Ok, Gordie.", Rolfe says, beginning to smile too.

"What do you do in these parts?", he says, "To have fun?", he finishes, still smiling.

"Well summer time, we go fishing. Hunting.", he pauses and points his hand towards the
lures and fishing rods."winter time", he still points his hand towards that direction,
we can see there are ice fishing equipment like a ice drill as well. "We go fishing..",
Rolfe interrupts him.

"Let me guess?", he says. "You go fishing, hunting?", finishing his sentence.

"That is pretty much it, yes.", Gordie says and smiles wide.

SCENE 2

DAY, INSIDE A BUILDING, WALL OF A OLD, OLD HUNTING LODGE. FULL OF HUNTING EQUIPMENT, BEAR TRAPS, SNOW SHOES, CANNED FOOD, WIND IS HOWLING OUTSIDE. CAMERA COMES TO A PICTURE. PICTURE OF JILL WHITEHOUSE. NEXT TO THE PICTURE. PICTURE OF THE WHITEHOUSE FARM. NEXT PICTURE, ROLFE AND WADE WHITEHOUSE AS KIDS, NEXT TO THAT PICTURE, PICTURE OF
WHITEHOUSE FAMILY, GLEN WHITEHOUSE LOOKING MEANLY BACK.

WE HEAR A MAN BREATHING LABORIOUSLY.

WE SEE HIM LOOK STRAIGHT IN TO GLEN WHITEHOUSE.

HE LIFTS A BOTTLE OF MOONSHINE TO HIS LIPS, TAKES A DEEP SWIG.

"Damn you!, damn you to hell!", he whispers.

SCENE 3

DAY

CAMERA IS FLYING OVER A OLD SNOW COVERED INDUSTRIAL TOWN, SNOW IS FALLING DOWN TO SLOWLY BLANKET EVERYTHING EVEN FURTHER. THE CAMERA SLOWLY ZOOMS IN TO A OLD RED BRICK MULTI STORY BUILDING, WITH FIRE EXIT LADDERS OUTSIDE. ZOOMING TOWARDS A SINGLE WINDOW.

CAMERA SWITCHES TO INSIDE VIEW.

WE SEE PATRICK RUNNER IS SITTING ON A DESK WITH A BEAT UP COMPUTER AND PILES OF PAPER, STACKED ARM HIGH. ON THE WALL THERE ARE WANTED POSTERS. HE IS WATCHING OUTSIDE AT THE SNOW FALLING.

RADIO IS PLAYING SOME OLD R&B IN THE BACKGROUND.

HE IS GRUMBLING ABOUT SOMETHING, BARELY AUDIBLE. READING A PAPER FILE, WE SEE A MUGSHOT OF SOME UNKNOWN PERSON, AND A STAMP "COLD CASE" ON IT.

"Damn it", he swears and looks at the person on the opposite desk.

CAMERA REVEALS THE PERSON SITTING OPPOSITE TO HIM. IT IS A SHORT BROWN WOMAN WITH BOBBED HAIR, WELL BUILT, ATHLETIC, WITH QUIET EYES THAT ARE DISCONCERTING.

"What is it Patrick?", she says, sipping her coffee, typing something on her computer terminal.

"This damn case, it leads nowhere Jessica.", Patrick says. As a phone rings in his pocket.

"Patrick Runner.", he answers.

THE CAMERA SWITCHES TO A LIVING ROOM IN A OLD FARMHOUSE. WE CAN SEE LILLIAN WHITEHOUSE HORNER HOLDING A PHONE. A PERPLEXED LOOK ON HER FACE.

"Hello, Patrick, this is Lillian Whitehouse Horner speaking", she pauses, as if she was
afraid to talk, about to reveal something confidential. "He is going on one of those
searches again, he had a tip and this time it is supposed to be a good one."

CAMERA SWITCHES BACK TO THE OFFICE, WE SEE PATRICK WITH A PAINFUL LOOK ON HIS FACE.

"Hi Lillian, if this is one of those wild goose chases, I just..", he pauses as Lillian
interrupts him.

CAMERA SWITCHES BACK TO LILLIAN.

"Believe me Patrick, this time, it is supposed to be for real.", she says, licking
her lips. As if she was hoping he would listen to him.

"Oh damn it. And I was supposed to go on a holiday.", Patrick says.

"Well, how about Canada.", Lillian says, with a mischievous smile on her face.."

CAMERA SWITCHES BACK TO PATRICK CLOSING THE PHONE, LOST IN THOUGHTS, LOOKING A MILLION MILES PAST JESSICA.

"What was that?", Jessica asks, with concern.

"Well, there was this small town cop, from Lawford, New Hampshire..", he says as Jessica lifts her
finger up. "Is not that where you are from?", she says.

"Yes.. Anyway he killed two men, his own father, although we do not know the circumstances
and another man, Jack Hewitt.", he says like it was a beginning to a long story.

"When did this happen?", Jessica asks, sipping her coffee.

"Back in 1997. . Before Lawford became famous for the ski resort, when it still was a
two bit speed trap. ", Patrick shoots back at her.

"Why did he do it?", Jessica asks with a growing curiosity.

"Well, the way his brother told the story, he felt guilty.. He egged him on about
the city elect man Gordon LaRiviere and Union Boss Mel Gordon being in cahoots on a
conspiracy to commit a murder..", Patrick says, still looking a million miles away.

"Why did he kill this Jack?", Jessica says even more curious.

"We'll see it all started when this union official Evan Twombley was killed in a hunting accident and his guide just happened to be this Jack Hewitt, who was actually a hot shot baseball player, who blew his chances when he injured his shoulder.", Patrick says as if he was refreshing his own
memory while he was talking.

"And how did Jack fit in all of this?", Jessica asks trying to paint a picture in her mind,
cradling the coffee cup in her hand.

"We'll see, this town was ran by Gordon LaRiviere and Wade and Jack were working for him.
Wade was the city police man only because Gordon LaRiviere said so, right before he died
the job was given to this Jack Hewitt, who was at the scene when Ewan Twombley fell on
his gun. . ", Patrick says, with growing speed as it is all coming back to him.

"So Wade thought this Jack Hewitt had shot Ewan Twombley, but why?", Jessica asks
with a serious look on her face.

"Well, the way his brother told the story. He was telling Wade. It was plausible that
Gordon LaRiviere who fired him and gave the job for Jack. Was working together with Ewan
Twombleys son in law. This Mel Gordon. Who was working as a vice president of the union. Buying the soon to be Lawford ski resort lands. With the money he had borrowed from Mafia.", Patrick said, drawing a deep breath.

"Mafia? Really?", Jessica says, surprised.

"Yes, the thing is, it was plausible, because this Evan Twombley fella was actually investigating
illegal mafia loans to the union.", Patrick says. And continues, "And Wade thought they
had hired this Jack Hewitt guy, who was given his old cop job, as a hit man."

"So he was not going to let them get away with it?", Jessica says. Putting her coffee cup
on the table.

"Yes, in his mind it probably all made sense.", Patrick says. Looking at Jessica,
with a sad face.

"And it was all looked in to?", Jesssica asks.

"Ofcourse, yes! Gordon LaRiviere was buying the lands, he did become a multi millionaire,
but the connections between him and this Mel Gordon fella were all only in the mind of Wade and Rolfe Whitehouse.", Patrick says like that was that.

"What about his father?", Jessica asks.

"Burnt to cinder, he was a piece of work, no one in the town cried for him.", Patrick
says.

"Really, that bad of a guy?", Jessica says, shocked.

"Yes, he had it coming, if you ask from me. It was a classic case of bad karma.", Patrick
says, like he felt the same.

"Any leads?", Jessica asks.

"Well, Jacks Truck ended up in Toronto, and other than few false sightings here and there,
nothing. I guess since he was a cop, he knew our tricks.", Patrick says all business.

"Why the hint now?", Jessica asks.

"We'll see, his daughter is dying and this Rolfe Whitehouse guy feels guilty, so he has
been posting pictures of Wade in newspapers all across the nation, so that he could find him..",
Patrick says.

"But if he finds him, he is going to be convicted for a double man slaughter", Jessica says.

"Who was that on the phone?", she continues.

"That was Wades ex wife, whom he was going to sue for the sole custody of this dying daughter,
right before the events I told you about happened, the way the ex wife tells it, the
daughter never knew about that and soon after his disappearance began to build this romanticized
picture about his father..", Patrick said..

"And she wants to talk to him one last time before she dies?", Jessica interrupts him.

"That is about that.", Patrick says and turns towards the window, watching somewhere
over the snowy rooftops.

SCENE 4

DAY

TWO SNOW MOBILES ARE MOVING FAST IN THE WILDERNESS, THE CAMERA SLOWLY MOVING DOWN TO CATCH UP WITH THE SNOW MOBILES, REVEALING ROLFE WHITEHOUSE AND WILL DOMIK, CLAD IN SNOW GEAR AND HELMETS, WEARING SKI GOGGLES, THEIR FACES COVERED WITH SCARVES, WHITE FROM ICE.

THE SNOWMOBILES ARE PULLING SLEDS BEHIND THEM.

WE HEAR THEIR BREATHING ON A HELMET MOUNTED MICROPHONE.

THE FREQUENCY CRACKLES TO LIFE AS WILL DOMIK BEGINS TO TALK.

"We are going to stop here for the night!", he screams over the noise of the snowmobile engine.

"What", Rolfe Whitehouse screams, having trouble hearing.

"We are going to stop here for the night.", Will says again and begins to slow his
snowmobile down and steering it towards a nearby forest.

"Ok", Rolfe says and follows him.

SCENE 5

WE SEE WILL DOMIK RATCHETING STRAP TENSIONER HIGH UP IN A TREE TO A TENT RAISED HIGH ABOVE THE FOREST FLOOR AND ROLFE WHITEHOUSE LOOKING UP TO HIM BEFUDDLED.

"Why are you raising that tent so high.", Rolfe screams at him.

WILL DOMIK LOOKS DOWN UPON HIM WITH A GLEE. PULLING A CIGARETTE FROM HIS LIPS.

"Well, would you like to be eaten by a wolverine or a Cougar.", he says and spits on
the ground.

"I guess not", Rolfe says, with a understanding smile.

"Me neither.", Rolfe says and ratchets one more time before saying, "Our humble abode
is ready for the night.", still smiling.

SCENE 6

NIGHT

WE HEAR ROLFE AND WILL BREATHING INSIDE A TENT, WEARING HEAVY CLOTHING, MOSTLY INSIDE THEIR SLEEPING BAGS. ROLFE STARING AT A SMART PHONE, WITH ONE EARBUD ON, ONE OFF. WILL IS SMOKING.

"So tell me again, what did you see?", Rolfe Whitehouse asks from Will Domik, staring
at his cellphone, wonderingly.

"I saw your brother, not far from here, he looked like he had been to hell and back,
he actually looked a lot like the damn abominable snowman, but yes, it was your brother alright.",
Will says, taking a drag from his cigarette.

"So you will pay me fifty thousand if I find him?", Will asks with a greedy look on his face.

"Sure", Rolfe says.

"You must be a rich man.", Will says.

"I've been fortunate.", Rolfe says.

"What the hell were you doing here?", Rolfe asks, staring at the face of Will. Reflection of a
movie playing quietly on his eye glasses.

"Well, if you really want to know, illegal trapping.", he says, smile coming to his face,
"But since we are looking for a man who has  killed two people. Who cares right?",
he says and takes another drag. The head of his cigarette turning red, then continuing.

"But the real question is. Why do you want to find your brother, you do realize. If we
bring him to civilization, he is going to go away for the rest of his, no doubt, short life."
, he says.

"Well, the thing is, everything that happened, was in large part because of me.", Rolfe says,
like it was a beginning to a long story.

WE SEE BITS OF THE STORY AS THE TWO MEN CHANGE POSITIONS AND WILL GOES THROUGH MULTIPLE CIGARETTES, WITH FLASHBACKS TO MOVIE AFFLICTION.

AT SOME POINT ROLFE TURNS OFF THE CELLPHONE.

THEN WE SEE JILL WHITEHOUSE LAYING IN A HOSPITAL BED AND WE SEE ROLFE WHITEHOUSE KNEELING NEXT TO HER, SILENTLY, WE HEAR THE MONITORS BEEPING.

THEN WE HEAR THE VOICE OF ROLFE SPEAKING IN THE TENT.

"I told her how I felt I was guilty for her dads actions. I made her a promise. That I
will try to find him.", he says with a meek voice.

CAMERA SWITCHES BACK TO THE TENT.

"What if he fights back?", Will says.

"I think I can trust him.", Rolfe says.

"I know him, he is not a killer, something bad must have happened.", he continues.

WE HEAR A GUN COCKING IN THE SILENCE.

"Well, I do not", Will says and holds the barrel of a nine millimeter Beretta towards
the tent canopy. Looking at the barrel, one eye closed, taking a deep drag from the cigarette.

"Do not you know those things will kill you.", Rolfe says, turning back to his cellphone.

"Well, it is one thing or the other, sooner or later, we all gotta pay the piper.", Will
says, putting the gun down. "Now its time to go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to
be a long day.", he finishes.

Then suddenly, right before closing his eyes. He begins to look shocked.

"What?", Rolfe asks. With a confused smile.

"Oh by the way, they probably know where we are.", he says, with a serious look.

"Who?", Rolfe says. Still looking confused.

"The royal mounted police.", Will says.

"Why would they?", Rolfe says, with a smile again.

"If the US police know what you are up to.", they must have someone keeping
tabs on you and they probably would send a royal mounted officers to look see
what you are up to."

"Give me that phone.", Will says, with a commanding voice.

"Why?", Rolfe says with a confused voice as Will grabs on to it.

"Now put your fingers inside your ear holes.", Rolfe does as he is told,
then beginning to realize what is about to happen, he screams "NOOO!",
as Will puts a hole in it with the Beretta through the tent floor.

"Now, that is better.", he says and continues, "Now, lets go to sleep.."

SCENE 7

WE SEE A WHITE ROYAL MOUNTED POLICE CAR SPEEDING TOWARDS THE SAME GAS STATION WE SAW EARLIER. TOWING A TRAILER WITH TWO SNOW MOBILES ON IT, THE TRAILER FULL OF GEAR.

INSIDE THE CAR WE SEE ARNOLD AND STEVEN IN THEIR WINTER GEAR. LOOKING FORWARD, TALKING ABOUT THE CASE.

THE RADIO IS PLAYING ROCK MUSIC.

"So this guy killed two people.", Steven says to Arnold.

"Yes, Steve. But the case is as cold as can be. So do not hold your breath.
Most likely we are going to find two tourists with broken snow mobiles deep
in the wilderness, begging for our help to get them out of there.", Arnold says and
looks at him briefly.

"How is that cell phone signal doing.", Steven asks.

"Well, it died long before this stretch of the road. But they were coming this way
the techies told me.", Arnold says and turns on the blinker as the car pulls
to the gas station.

INSIDE THE GAS STATION GORDON IS LOOKING CURIOUS AS THE TWO OFFICERS WALK IN.

"Well, hello there.", he says and looks at them with a wondering look.

"You wonder what we are doing here?", Arnold says, looking straight into his eyes.

"Yes, eh.", he says and smiles.

"Sir. Have you seen these two men?", Steven says, showing him
the pictures of Wade and Rolfe on his smartphone.

Gordon takes a long look at the pictures and begins to talk slowly.

"Well, the first guy came here yesterday with a out of town camper I see every
now and then. But I have not seen the other one.", Gordon says, looking serious.

"What happened?", Arnold says.

"That is their truck", he says, pointing towards the old Mitsubishi Pajero,
with a empty trailer behind them.

"Where did they go?", Arnold continues with a serious tone.

"Someways that way.", Gordon says and points towards the back of the
gas station.

"They had snowmobiles?", Arnold asks with a curious tone.

"Yes, real fancy ones too.", Gordon says, beginning to describe them as
Steven shows him to stop talking, cutting him off.

"I guess that is why they stopped at that snowmobile rental place. Well, good
thing you were thinking ahead.", Steven says to Arnold.

"Me, thinking ahead? Always", he says with a smile and salutes him.

"You Royal mounted police. Makes me feel real proud to be a Canadian.",
Gordon says, with a smile.

"Well, thank you sir!", Arnold says and bows deep towards him.

"Bravo, bravo!", Steven says loudly and claps.

SCENE 8

MORNING

THE CAMERA IS SOMEWHERE FAR ABOVE THE ROLLING MOUNTAINS. WITH SUN JUST PEEKING OVER THE HORIZON. THE CAMERA BEGINS TO DESCEND LOWER.

WE SEE A OLD HUNTING CABIN WITH A SMALL SHED NEXT TO IT.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS DOWN TOWARDS THE CLEARING WITH THE CABIN.

WE SEE THE DOOR FLY OPEN. WADE WHITEHOUSE STEPS OUT IN A DRUNKEN
STUPOR. SHAKING DUE TO A FEVER. COUGHING AS HE WALKS
SLOWLY DOWN A PATH TOWARDS THE SMALL SHED. LOOKING PALE AS
A GHOST.

"Damn Canada.", he mutters to himself.

"I should have stayed in Florida, or even the damn Rockies.",
he says as he reaches the shed door and opens it with a creek, looking in
to the pitch black darkness.

CUT TO THE SHED FROM INSIDE.

WE SEE MOOSE ANTLERS ON THE WALLS ALONG WITH SOME FIREWOOD STACKED TOWARDS A WALL.

WADE STEPS IN AND PROMPTLY FALLS ON THE ICE INSIDE THE SHED.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON HIM LAYING ON THE ICE.

SHAKING, HIS FACE LOOKING LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO CRY.

"Damn mothers genes.", he says. Taking a hold of a nearby sawing bench
that looks like it is about hundred years old.

WE SEE THE 80 YEAR OLD WADE, SLOWLY RISE UP. NOW WEEPING OPENLY.

"I am not like my father! Damn it!", he says. Wipes the tears with
his sleeve. And takes a sip of moonshine.

Breathing deep. Shivering. In pain. He grabs a armful of firewood.
Painfully walking out. Slamming the door shut with his foot.
"I should burn this one too. .", he says. And spits the shine out of his mouth.

"What a wonderful God damn life", he says angrily. Walking back
down the same path he came from.

SCENE 9

WE SEE PATRICK RUNNER WITH A SMALL BACK BAG EXIT FROM CUSTOMS AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT THROUGH SLIDING GLASS DOORS. LOOKING NOT TOO REFRESHED. GREETED BY MOBS OF PEOPLE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE COMING THROUGH THE DOOR.

WE SEE A GAUNT LOOKING WILLIAM MOLLER FOLLOW PATRICK AS HE EXITS THROUGH THE DOORS.

THEY MAKE EYE CONTACT.

PATRICK RUNNER NODS TO ACKNOWLEDGE HE RECOGNIZES HIM TOO.

WE SEE PATRICK WALKING PAST LAST FEW GATES, APPROACHING WILLIAM WITH HIS HAND OUTSTRETCHED.

"Detective Patrick Runner.", he introduces himself and looks William square in the eyes.

"Sergeant William Moller. I am your liaison officer during your stay here.", he says and
grabs on to his hand firmly.

"This way please.", he says and turns towards the sliding glass doors leading outside. Waving
Patrick towards that direction.

"After you.", he says politely.

SCENE 10

PATRICK AND WILLIAM SIT IN A CAR, LEAVING TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT.

WILLIAM IS TALKING AS PATRICK IS LOOKING AT THE SNOWY SCENERY OUTSIDE.

THE RADIO IS PLAYING JAZZ MUSIC.

"We sent two royal mounted police officers to follow this Mr..", he tries to recall and fails.

"Rolfe Whitehouse", William says.

"Yes. They trailed them to a long stretch of road in the Northwest territories.", he says.
Clearing his throat and continues. "They had rented two snowmobiles and they took off
from a gas station far behind Gods back.", turning towards Patrick.

"So Rolfe is willing to put that kind of money in to this search.", Patrick says, wondering look
on his eyes.

"Who is the person with him, what do we know about him? ", Patrick asks.

"We do not know much about him, he has been arrested a few times for drunken antics. But
he seems to be mostly a law abiding citizen.". He says and coughs with a pained look on his face.

"I hope you do not catch this.", he says.

"Ive had it for a month now.", he continues.

"I hope so too.", Patrick says and looks forward. Lost in thought.

SCENE 11

DAY

WE SEE A GREAT HORNED OWL SITTING IN A GIANT PINE TREE, ON A TOP OF A CLIFF WATCHING OVER A PRISTINE, QUIET FOREST. SUDDENLY IT TURNS ITS HEAD FORWARD. WE BEGIN TO HEAR THE SOUND OF DISTANT SNOWMOBILES.

CUT TO

WE SEE ROLFE WHITEHOUSE AND WILL DOMIK ON THEIR SNOWMOBILES. MAKING THEIR WAY TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIFF RISING FROM THE FOREST FLOOR.

SNOW IS BILLOWING IN THEIR WAKE.

WE HEAR THE HELMET MICROPHONE CRACKLE ON.

"I was not made for this kind of adventure you know.", Rolfe says. "I am not a young man
anymore.", he continues.

"Quit your bitching. If you want to find your brother, you gotta man up. Besides, I want
my fifty thousand.", Will says.

"So you saw him somewhere around here.", Rolfe says.

"Yes, not too far. It was right before the snowfall, but I know that he must be close. If he is
still around.", Will says and begins to steer his snowmobile towards the bottom of the cliff.
Standing up from the forest floor.

CAMERA RISES UP, SHOWING THE SNOWMOBILES BELOW AND THE TREE WITH THE OWL ABOVE THE CLIFF.

"God I hope he has not moved on if he saw you.", Rolfe says.

WE SEE THE TWO SNOWMOBILES COME TO A STOP.

WE SEE THE GREAT HORNED OWL FLY AWAY.

CUT TO, WILL AND ROLFE WAIST DEEP IN THE SNOW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIFF.

SNOWMOBILES TURNED OFF.

Rolfe is looking at Will with a confused look on his face. "How in the hell
are we supposed to find him here?", he says, staring at Will.

"The thing is, I know this area like the back of my hands.", Will says
and lights up a cigarette. Taking a deep drag from it.

"I think I know where he is.", he says and smiles. .

"Well, why in the hell did not we go straight there?", Rolfe says, looking almost angry.

"Here is the deal man.", Will says, smoking between talking.

"You may trust your brother. But I do not. He is a double murderer after all. I want to
surprise him and point my gun on him while you two talk. If I feel I can trust him,
then I may lower my gun.", he says, his cigarette half way gone.

"So where is this place you think he is at.", Rolfe says.

"Well, there are not too many places here. But if he is ready to live without any luxuries.
There is this old hunting cabin from God knows when. Falling apart about three miles from here.",
Will says and throws his cigarette away.

"How in the hell are we going to walk through this God damn snow.", Rolfe says, standing waist
deep in the snow.

"Ever heard of snowshoes?", Will asks.

We see the face of Rolfe light up to a understanding smile.

Will looks at Rolfe like he was total idiot.

"Ok then! Lets get going! I want to see if your theory holds any water.", Rolfe says.

"Sure.", Will says and goes to dig the snowshoes from a sled he has been pulling with his
snowmobile.

SCENE 12

INSIDE A HUNTING CABIN, WE SEE WADE WHITEHOUSE, ALL HIS CLOTHES ON, WRAPPED IN A BLANKET, SWEAT GLEAMING ON HIS FOREHEAD.

He is muttering. Watching at the pictures on the wall.

We begin to hear his speech become coherent.

"Heavenly father, forgive me for I have sinned.", he is saying. .

"If you just could send me a miracle.", he says.

Watching at the pictures.

Shivering.

Suddenly he coughs loudly.

Instantly looking like he is in pain.

"Oh hell that hurt.", he says loudly.

"Hide in Canada in the winter. What a hell of a idea.", he says..

Still looking at the picture.

"Me and my bright ideas.", he says. .

SCENE 13

WE SEE ROLFE WHITEHOUSE AND WILL DOMIK WALKING ON THEIR SNOWSHOES THROUGH A FOREST TOWARDS A SMALL CLEARING. ROLFE IS REDFACED AND LOOKS LIKE HE IS IN PAIN.

"I do not want to be that guy. But are we there yet?!", he says loudly.

"Be quiet!", Will Domik says and waves at him to keep down.

"What?", Rolfe whispers.

Will points towards the clearing. We see a small hunting cabin in the distance.

"See, there is smoke coming out of the chimney.", he whispers. Excited.

"You think?", Rolfe says.

"I think it is him!", Will says.

"There is no one here in the winter usually!", he continues.

"Man, my brother!", Rolfe says. His eyes focused on the shack.

"Could it really be, after all these damn years.", he says.

"Better get ready for some hard core cussing.", he continues and smiles broadly,
looking at Will.

"Sounds like my kind of a guy.", Will says, looking back at him.

"What are we going to do?", Rolfe says, still smiling, looking at the shack.

"I am going to walk behind the shack, surprise him, then I will shout to you
when you can come in.", Will says and begins to walk around the clearing,
not even looking back to Rolfe, excited. Greedy look on his face.

"Just don't shoot him!", Rolfe whispers loudly behind him.

SCENE 14

DARKNESS, WE SEE THE DOOR OF THE HUNTING CABIN.

SUDDENLY IT FLIES OPEN AND WILL DOMIK RUSHES IN WITH HIS BERETTA.

ONLY TO TRIP TO A TRIPWIRE.

WADE WHITEHOUSE POINTING A BIGGER GUN AT HIM.

SWEATING, SHIVERING, HE COUGHS.

"Who the hell are you and what the hell are you doing here.", he says coughing.

Will Domik lays on the floor. Afraid. Not knowing what to say, stuttering.

"Your b-b-brother is out there?", he says.

"What?!", Wade Whitehouse says his face full of disbelief.

"Your b-b-brother, Rolfe Whitehouse.", Will says. "He is waiting for me to call him in.", he
says, looking like he just shat his pants.

"I-I have never had a gun pointed on me, could you put it away.", he says.

"P-p-please.", he continues, his hands shaking.

"I do not trust you punk", Wade says, pointing the gun squarely on Wills forehead.

"Rolfe! Rolfe", he screams loudly, looking like it hurts , "Lets see if your cockamamie bullshit story
is true."

WE SEE ROLFE IN THE FOREST LINE. LIKE HE HAD JUST ENTERED THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

UNABLE TO BELIEVE HIS EARS.

"ROLFE!", we hear echoing from the tiny hunting cabin.

ROLFE BEGINS TO RUN TOWARDS IT WITH THE SNOWSHOES. AS WELL AS HE CAN,
ALMOST FALLING MULTIPLE TIMES.

CUT TO INSIDE THE HUNTING CABIN.

We see wade untrip the trip wire as the door flies open. Lighting Will laying on the
ground in handcuffs. Shaking from fear. Wade pointing a gun at him. Sweaty and shivering
 from the flu.

We see Rolfe looking at Wade like he has just seen Jesus.

Unable to Speak.

"And I just prayed for a God damn miracle.", Wade says. Shaking his head.

Smiling broadly, he opens his arms.

"Hello brother.", he says.

Rolfe walks in. Still smiling, straight into Wades arms.

SCENE 15

WE SEE WILL STILL HANDCUFFED. NOW SITTING ON WADES BUNK.
WADE AND ROLFE SITTING ON RICKETY CHAIRS OPPOSITE TO EACH OTHER
ON A SMALL TABLE.

THE TWO ARE TALKING.

"How is Lena?", Wade asks, "Last I heard of her, she was living at the farm,
I guess you decided never to sell it?", he is saying. Smiling, taking a sip
from a bottle. "You want some?", he continues.

"Lena is fine.", Rolfe says and continues. "Too strong for me.."

Then changes his mind, "Well, this one time!"
, he says. "Not every day you find your long lost brother.", he says
and takes the bottle.

"Lena has fixed the farm all up, you would not believe your eyes the way it looks
now.", he continues.

"Good for her!", Wade says.

"21 years. 21 God damn years.", Wade says. Looking sad. "It makes me sad.", he
continues, "I am just like my father.".

"No you are not.", Rolfe says. Tapping on his arm with caring. .

Rolfe lifts the bottle to his lips, takes a sip. Instantly spitting it on the floor.
Looking like he just drank poison.

"How can you drink this?", Rolfe asks with a grimace.

"Out here there is no booze stores. Dad would miss his browns.",
Wade says with a tired smile. Looking at the picture of Glen staring
back at them from the wall.

Rolfe looks at the picture too, then turns his gaze back at Wade.

"So what the hell happened Wade, I mean, that day.", Rolfe continues.

Wade takes the bottle from Rolfe and takes a sip.

"God damn.", he says.

"What?", Rolfe says.. Shaking his head..

"Dad..", Wade begins.. Looks away.. Unable to say another word..

"You can tell me..", Rolfe says.. Looking at Wade, who has not spoken of this
since that day..

"He hit me, with a bottle.", he says, still shaking his head.. Sweat gleaming
on his forehead..

"How did he die?", Rolfe says..

"I hit him back with a butt of a gun, lightly. I did not mean to kill him. . He fell down,
shaking. I guess he got a heart attack or something.", he says. "I did not mean to
kill him!", he screams. Tears in his eyes.

Will domik looks at them from the bunk. Listening..

"What about the other guy, why did you kill him?", he asks, hesitatingly.

"Damn, damn, damn.", Wade says, shaking his head..

"That God damn deer hunting season.", he says..

"I remember.", Rolfe says.. "I remember it well.. I kept on telling you it was all plausible.",
he says. "I egged you on.", Rolfe says.

"I did not have to kill him though. I even liked Jack. I thought they were going to get away
with a murder. .", Wade says loudly. Putting his face on his hands.

"I was a lot like him when I was young. You know.", he continues.

Coughing. Pained look on his face.

"It all made sense back then.", Wade says quietly.

"But not anymore?", Will asks.

"Now I do not know what to think.", Wade says.

"How is Jill?", Wade asks, with a loving smile.

"Last I heard of her she was doing fine.", Wade says.

We see Rolfe close his eyes and put his hand on his forehead.

"I do not know how to tell you this. . ", Rolfe says.

"What?!", Wade says and grabs on to his shoulders.

"TELL ME JILL IS FINE?", Wade screams, shaking his head in disbelief.

Rolfe does not say a word. Wade gets up and looks the other way.

"I thought this was a miracle, not a god damned another lighting bolt from the blue!", he screams,
tears coming to his face. Understanding Rolfe is going to say something devastating.

SCENE 16

WE SEE ARNOLD KENSINGTON AND WILLIAM GALLANT SLOWLY FOLLOW THE SNOWSHOE FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW WITH THEIR SNOWMOBILES.

WE SEE THEM COME TO THE CLEARING WITH THE HUNTING CABIN, THERE
IS NO SMOKE COMING FROM THE CHIMNEY ANYMORE. THE DOOR IS FLAPPING OPEN IN THE WIND.

WE HEAR THE HELMET MICROPHONES CRACKLE ON.

"Well, someone has been living here", Arnold says.

CUT TO THE HUNTING SHACK FROM INSIDE. THE DOOR IS OPEN, LIGHT IS COMING IN. IT LOOKS LIKE WADE, ROLFE AND WILL LEFT IN A HURRY. MOST OF THE ITEMS ARE INTACT. ONLY A FEW ARE MISSING.

THERE IS A SQUIRREL ON THE FLOOR, EATING HOME MADE BREAD THAT HAS FALLEN FROM THE TABLE.

SUDDENLY WE HEAR ARNOLD SCREAM FROM THE DISTANCE.

"Freeze, police. Come out with your hands up."

THE SQUIRREL FREEZES, JUMPS THROUGH THE DOOR.

CUT TO ARNOLD AND WILLIAM POINTING THEIR SEMI AUTOMATIC PISTOLS AT THE CABIN FROM THE EDGE OF THE CLEARING, BOTH SEEING THE SQUIRREL RUN OUT FROM THE SHACK, CLIMBING UP A TREE. .

WE SEE BOTH ARNOLD AND WILLIAM  LOOKING AT EACH OTHER. SMILING.

"Well, that got a little squirrely.", Arnold says, not able to resist a joke.

Lifting his hand up for a high five.

"Yea, I do not think anyone is there anymore.", William says and high fives Arnold.

CUT TO THE OPEN DOOR OF THE HUNTING SHACK FROM INSIDE, WE SEE WILLIAM AND ARNOLD STEPPING IN.

"My, my!", William says. "Someone definitively was living here.", he continues and whistles.
His eyes scanning the walls. Turning towards Arnold. Checking out the other wall.

"Anything there?", William asks from Arnold.

Arnold is quiet.

"Did you find something?", William asks. Interested. Watching at the back of Arnold.

Arnold turns with a picture of Wade Whitehouse with his daughter Jill in his hand.

"I think this case just went from cold to hot.", he says. Serious.

"Show me that!", William asks, Arnold hands the picture over to him.

"Is that?", he says as he pours over the picture.

"I think that is Wade Whitehouse.", Arnold says. "I think it is time for a satellite
call to the headquarters.", he says and steps out of the door.

We see William shake his head in disbelief.

SCENE 17

NIGHT

CHEAP HOTEL ROOM, WE SEE PATRICK RUNNER SNORING IN BED. OUTSIDE THE SNOW IS FALLING. WE HEAR DISTANT SIRENS CRY IN THE NIGHT. SUDDENLY THE SILENCE IS CUT BY A CELLPHONE RINGING.

PATRICK COMES TO. BEGINS TO GRASP FOR THE CELLPHONE FROM THE NIGHT TABLE. DROPS IT. PICKS IT UP FROM THE FLOOR. SQUINTING AS HE TRIES TO SEE WHO IS CALLING. WE SEE TEXT, "WILLIAM MOLLER", ON THE SCREEN.

"Patrick Runner.", he says, sounding tired. ´

CUT TO WILLIAM GALLANT STANDING NEXT TO A DESK, LOOKING AT PICTURES OF PICTURES FROM WADES SHACK ON A PAD HE IS HOLDING.

"This is William Gallant, I am sorry to call you so late. But I sent you some
pictures.", he says, all business.

CUT TO PATRICK

"Checking now.", Patrick says and begins to swipe his cellphone, suddenly watching
at the picture of Wade and Jill.

Patrick goes quiet.

Shaking his head.

We hear William saying hello on the phone loudspeaker. Patrick looks like he needs to sit down.

He sits down.

Puts his hand on his mouth.

We hear William say, "Hello, anybody there?", Patrick slowly raises the phone to his ear.

"Where did you find these?", Patrick demands.

"At a empty hunting cabin where we tracked Rolfe Whitehouse to.", William says.

"So no one was there?", Patrick asks with a angry tone.

"No, they had left. But there were tracks of three men leading away.", William says calmly.

"Why did you not call me right away?", Patrick says.

"Nobody was in the office who knew about the case. I just got them.", Patrick says all business.

"Do you know what this means.", Patrick says. Shaking his head.

"What?", Williams asks. .

"After twenty one years.. We finally found him.", Patrick says.. Excited..

"How do you know, it could be just pictures Rolfe left behind.", William asks.

"Could be, could be.. But I got a feeling.", Patrick says and asks. "What now?", he says.

"The two police men who found the pictures are in a hot pursuit of trails that led away
from the hunting shack, we will keep you informed.", William says.

"Ok, thanks.", Patrick says and closes the phone.

Smiling, thrill of a hunt in his eyes.

SCENE 18

NIGHT

WE SEE WADE WHITEHOUSE DRIVING A OLD SNOWMOBILE. PULLING A SLED BEHIND WITH BOTH WILL AND ROLFE ON. COMING TO A SUMMER COTTAGE NEXT TO ICY LAKE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, WITH LARGE BUILDINGS AROUND IT.

WADE PULLS IN TO THE FRONT OF THE CABIN.

WE HEAR WILL GRUMBLING.

"Why did we leave our snowmobiles behind!", Will is saying as Wade marches to the door
and knocks loudly. Nothing happens.

Rolfe climbs out from the sled and follows.

"Somebody must be looking for us.", Wade says, looking at the door.

"We are in a hurry.", he continues.

Rolfe looks at him.

"Who is this guy anyway?", Rolfe asks.

"Just wait and see.", Wade says. Knocking even louder.

"Oh yeah, he calls me Glen. Just go with it.", Wade says dryly.

Rolfe tries to take it in, suddenly realizing it was their dads name, and smiling.

"Ok.", Will says.

We hear dogs barking inside.

We hear someone stomping inside, coming towards the door.

We hear someone screaming angrily.

"Glen, is that you goddammit?", a man screams as the door flies open and we see.

John Bark standing in his underwear, holding a shotgun at hip level towards them.

"Of course it is you, you son of a bitch. No one else would wake me up at two a clock
in the morning.", John says.

"What do you need this time?", John asks, annoyed. .

"How about a night flight? At low altitude, at least first. ", Wade asks.

"Do you have money.", John asks.

"He probably does not, but I do.", Rolfe says, "If you somehow have a internet
here, I can transfer it tonight.", he continues.

Will looks at him, amazed. "Can you do that for me too?", he says.

"Sure.", Rolfe says. "What would not I do for my long lost brother.", smiling
towards Wade.

Wade smiles at him a little bit, still grief struck due to the bad news about Jill.

"Well, I do have a sat phone and a laptop.", John says. Suddenly looking much happier.

Wade coughs.

"This damn flu, it is killing me.", he says, pauses and says, "But at least I got to
see my brother before I die.. ", staring at Rolfe, shaking his head. In pain.

John looks at him. "Glen are you ok?", slightly concerned.

"I got your god damn flu.", he says.

"You are welcome.", John says.

"Now lets go transfer the money!", he says and waves them in.

SCENE 19

DESK. WILLIAM MOLLER DRINKING COFFEE FROM A PAPER CUP NEXT TO HIM.
WATCHING INTENTLY.

"Patrick Runner from cold case files.", he says.

CUT TO JACK

"Yes, shoot.", Jack says.

CUT TO PATRICK.

"I am calling from the Toronto police headquarters where a cold case
just became red hot. We have a strong suspicion that we
just picked a trail for a man who committed a double murder far in the
Northwestern territories of Canada.", Patrick says.

"What is his name?", we hear Jack say in the phone.

"He is a former police officer called Wade Whitehouse from Lawford
New Hampshire who has been on the run for 21 years.", Patrick says
pointing to William Mollers coffee cup, then lifting his finger
up for one, then drinking the said imaginary cup.

We see William understanding what he meant and walking away.

CUT TO JACK

We see Jack has sat down on his desk, where he has pulled the
information about Wade and is reading it on his computer terminal.

"Interesting", he mutters. Reading intently.

"What led to the find now, 21 years later.", he says.

Scrolling the page down as he talks.

We see pictures of the Whitehouse farm, the burnt
barn and some blurred pictures of the victims.

"Well, it is a long story.", Patrick says.

"Shoot.", Jack says and sighs.

SCENE 20

HOSPITAL CORRIDOR. WE SEE LILLIAN WHITEHOUSE HORNER
WALKING WITH A GLOOMY NERVOUS LOOK ON HER FACE. CARRYING

"Hello my darling..", Lillian says gently and walks to Jill with the roses.
Putting the vase on a table next to her, then grabbing on to her hand.
Gently. Then kissing her lightly on the forehead.

"How are you?", Lillian asks.

"You know mom. Same.", Jill says. Looking tired. Holding her cell phone.
Screen towards her.

"It was a nice drive here.", Lillian says, pointing to her cell phone.

"How is Facebook.", Lillian continues, with a attempt at a smile.

"Same old, same old.", Jill says. "I saw you took a picture of my old ice skates.",
she continues with a slight smile.

"I always remember you skating when. When you were young. I knew you would be
good at it one day.", Lillian says.

"Well, those days are gone. No more trophies for me.", Jill says. Looking
instantly downcast.

"Well, you never know dear.", Lillian says. "I have been praying.", she continues.

"Well, thank you mom.", Jill says.

"Have you heard anything from Rolfe?", Lillian asks.

"Just one message.", Jill says.

"What was that dear?", Lillian asks.

"I have good news. .", Jill says. With a broad smile.

The face of Lillian turns instantly sour.

We see Jill reveal her cell phone, it is a picture of young Wade Whitehouse.

She keeps on smiling.

SCENE 21

DAY

THE CAMERA FLIES ABOVE PRISTINE CANADIAN FOREST. WE SEE ARNOLD KENSINGTON AND STEVEN GALLANT DRIVING ON THEIR SNOWMOBILES FAR BELOW. IN THE DISTANCE WE SEE THE CABIN WHERE WADE, ROLF, WILL AND JOHN WERE EARLIER.

THE CAMERA DESCEND DOWN ON THE SNOWMOBILES FLYING THROUGH THE FOREST, WE SEE THEY ARE TRACKING A SINGLE SNOWMOBILE TRACK.

THE MICROPHONE CRACKLES.

"Why did they leave their snowmobiles behind?", Steven asks Arnold.

"I guess they were in a hurry.", Arnold says as they get closer towards the
cabin.

CUT TO

ARNOLD AND STEVEN ARE IN SIGHT DISTANCE OF THE CABIN.

BOTH MEN ARE STANDING APART WITH THEIR SMITH AND WESSON SEMI AUTOMATIC PISTOLS DRAWN, POINTING TOWARDS THE CABIN.

"THIS IS POLICE, PLEASE COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS HELD UP.", Arnold screams. .

Nothing happens..

CUT TO.

THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE.

IT IS DIM.

THERE IS A EERIE QUIETNESS. THEN SUDDENLY THERE IS A LOUD BANG,
A HOLE APPEARS NEXT TO THE LOCK.

LIGHT POURS IN.

WE HEAR BANGING OUTSIDE.

"IT WONT OPEN!", Steven screams.

CUT TO THE OUTSIDE, WE SEE STEVEN AND ARNOLD. FRUSTRATED
LOOK ON THEIR FACES.

"Well, so much for the realism in movies.", Arnold says.

"Lets check out around the cabin.", he continues.

They walk around the cabin and see. .

What look like two massive ski tracks leading towards the lake from a massive
building, with now locked door.

"Oh I see how it is.", Arnold says and slaps himself on the forehead.

"I guess we are too late.", Steven says. Kicking some snow, frustrated.

"Oh you think?", Arnold says, smiling a smart ass smile.

"Yeah.", Steven says.

"Dude.", he continues.

SCENE 22

CUT TO CLOUDS, THE CAMERA IS FLYING THROUGH CLOUDS, RISING HIGHER.
REVEALING SUN LYING LOW ON THE SKY.

WE SEE A PLANE IN THE DISTANCE.

THE CAMERA CATCHES UP WITH THE PLANE.

WE SEE IT FROM THE FRONT.

WE SEE JOHN BARK STEERING THE PLANE. WITH A DOG ON HIS SIDE.

THE CAMERA FLIES TO THE SIDE OF THE PLANE.

ON THE BACKSEAT THERE IS WADE AND ROLFE.

WADE IS SLEEPING.

CUT TO THE INSIDE OF THE PLANE AS SEEN BACKWARD FROM FRONT.

WE SEE WADE AND ROLFE. WADE WRAPPED IN BLANKET FAST ASLEEP.

THE PLANE JOLTS AND WAKES UP WADE. AS HE WAKES. HE COUGHS.

ROLFE SMILES AT HIM

"I thought you would sleep forever.", Rolfe says.

"Where are we?", Wade asks.

"We have tanked twice, we are no longer flying low. We should be near North Dakota
border in about a hour. I can not believe you slept through it all.", Rolfe says.

"It's this damn flu. It is killing me.", Wade says.

"I hope not.", Rolfe says.

"You know what happened to Margie, your former girlfriend?", he asks.

"Yeah, I heard he married that restaurant owner. What is his name.", Wade asks.

"I do not remember it either.", Rolfe says and takes a sip from a thermos.

"Want some coffee?", he offers the thermos to Wade.

"Where is Will?", Wade asks as he grabs on to the thermos.

"We left him on the last stop.", Rolfe says as he sees Wade
beginning to panic.

"Do not worry, I paid him handsomely.", Rolfe says.

"Me too, John says loudly from the front seat.", smiling back
towards the two. "I knew you were not Glen. Wade.", he continues.

"WHAT? YOU TOLD THEM?", Wade says in panic.

Rolfe picks up a laptop from the ground and opens the lid.

"This is Glens laptop, he checked the news on our first refueling stop.", Rolfe says.

On the laptop screen the faces of Rolfe, young Wade and Will are looking at them,
with a headline. "Double killer found in Canada, after 21 years of hiding."

"I explained to him the situation, he promised to give us some time before he goes
to the police.", Rolfe said.

Wade slams his head on his forehead, looking like he is about to cry.

"Oh God.", he says.

"I just want to see Jill.", Wade says. .

Rolfe pats his back.

"We will make it happen Wade. One way or another.", he continues, reassuringly.

"But this time I am going to take you down with me.", Wade continues, with a desperate look on his
face.

"Well. Maybe it is my time to pay for my sins.", Rolfe says. Sad.

"What sins, you never did anything.", Wade says, looking directly at him.

"But I did. Brother.", Rolfe says and turns his gaze towards the clouds.

SCENE 23

SMALL CANADIAN POLICE STATION SOMEWHERE IN SASKATCHEWAN, WE SEE WILL DOMIK SIT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A DESK WITH GENERIC POLICE OFFICER LOOKING AT HIM STERNLY.

"Sir, you do know that helping a known criminal is a crime!", he says.

"I promise to you I did not know.", Will pleads. "This, Rolfe Whitehouse guy.
He just wanted me to find this guy. His brother? I did not know who he was before we
found him.", he looks into the eyes of the police officer. With sad eyes. Like a puppy.

"He put me on handcuffs.. Pointed a gun at me.. I am innocent. ", he says pleading.

"So you tell me, they were on this plane, piloted by this.. ", he looks
at his papers.

"John Bark.", Will says and continues, "He flew us out of the wilderness
to here and they left me. You know what really irks me?", Will continues.

"Yes?", the police officer asks.

"I left two snowmobiles I rented in the wilderness, now if you let me
leave I have to go and fetch them! I have to hire a couple of guys to help too.
You know that is going to be expensive!", Will screams.

"Well. If what you say is true and he paid you fifty thousand us dollars.
Money is not going to be a problem for you.", the police officer says
with little sympathy.

"Well.", you do have a point there. Will says with a smile.

"So this John, eh, John Bark fella knew nothing?", the police officer asks.

"Yes, he was calling Wade - Glen. I do not think he knew who he
was.", Will says factually.

"But you did?", the police officer asks.

"Yes, but I was afraid for my life. Wade had a gun.", Will says.

"Well, what ever the case, they are in for a world of trouble.",
the police officer says and continues, "You are free to go now,
but if we have any further questions, we will call you.", he continues.

"Ok dokie.", Will says with a smile. His mind thinking of a night in the town.

SCENE 24

NIGHT

TWO DAYS LATER, UNITED STATES MARSHALL OFFICE.

BISMARK NORTH DAKOTA.

WE SEE US MARSHALL THOMAS O BRIEN, JACK LYNCH FROM THE FBI, DETECTIVES PATRICK RUNNER AND JESSICA ANDREWS GATHERED AROUND A MAP OF NORTH DAKOTA.

TALKING AS PEOPLE IN US MARSHALL GEAR ARE WALKING AROUND THEM.

"So what we know so far is that this John Bark guy flew them to the border
on a small plane. A fact that he himself admits.", Thomas O Brien says.
Looking at the others.

"And we know that they most likely have crossed the border either
early today, or late yesterday.", Jack continues.

"Knowing Wade has been able to evade us for 21 years means that he
has it pretty much all figured out.", Patrick says.

"So we can assume they are headed towards New Hampshire.", Jessica
says. Looking at the three.

"The question is, why are they running.", Thomas O Brien asks.

"The hell if I know.", Jack Lynch says. Miffed.

"I am shooting a blank here too. And I know the Case best.", Patrick runner says.

He bangs on the map.

Meanwhile Jessica Andrews is sipping her coffee.

Her mind ticking..

"So they know they could turn themselves in, in which case we would treat
Rolfe kindly and Wade would get to see her daughter. Even if it would be
in a prison.", she says.

"What if?", she says and looks at Patrick.

They all look at her.

"They do not have time.", Patrick says.

"Why would they not have time?", Thomas asks.

"Yea!?", Jack joins the chorus.

"You tell me.", Jessica says.

"Personally, I think they are long since gone. I think it is time to go to New Hampshire.",
she says.

"Listen to what the lady says.", Patrick says. All business.

SCENE 25

IT IS DARK, WE HEAR TIRES SWOOSHING ON A SLUSHY ROAD.

SOMEONE IS SNORING.

"What time is it?", We hear Wade asking with a tired voice.

SUDDENLY A LIGHT APPEARS. IT IS A CELLPHONE LIGHTING THE FACE
OF ROLFE. REVEALING WADE SITTING NEXT TO HIM. THEY ARE SITTING
INSIDE A CONTAINER.

"It is four a clock in the morning.", Rolfe says. Looking at
Rolfe, tired. Yet feeling sympathy for him.

"You know we should get you to a hospital.", he says.

"You think?", Wade says.

"You know what I think, I am dying, that is what my doc told me.", Wade
says.

"Why did not you come out of hiding sooner then.", Rolfe says, looking sadly at him.
"You know they do have doctors in prisons.", not looking surprised, he has known
for a some time.

"I just thought.", I could die there, in that shack.", Wade says sadly.

"Like dad after mom died. He just let the door open. I think he was
trying to freeze himself to death. But then I came in with Marge. I guess he changed
his mind.", Wade says.

"But this way. At least I would get to see Jill.", he continues.

"How much time do you think you got?", Rolfe asks.

"Well. I had almost none when I went to the cabin the doc said.", Wade says his
hands together as if he was praying. Shivering.

"And that was three months ago.", he continues.

He smiles weakly. Then says, "I think the cancer and flu are in a race. Which one gets me first.".

Rolfe looks back at him, with a similar weak smile and says.
"Figures, I find you, only to find out I am going to lose you too."

"Well, you never know, maybe there is going to be another miracle.", Wade says,
not believing what he is saying either.

"But what about you.", Wade asks. "Why do you do this for me. I never did anything
for you?"

"Well you protected me from our father.", Rolfe says. "Besides. Once they know
why I am doing this.", he pauses. "I do not think they are going to throw the book
on me."

"I hope so.", Wade says.

"By the way. Brilliant move on the container. You would have made a good fugitive.", Wade says
and pats Rolfe on his shoulder.

"What do you mean would have?", Rolfe says. Smiling, "I am a fugitive!", he says and
pats Wade on his back. Wade coughs. Looking at his hand. He reveals it. It has blood.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS OUT. REVEALING THEY ARE INSIDE A SEALED CONTAINER.

THE CAMERA STAYS BEHIND AS THE TRUCK MOVES FORWARD ON A SLUSHY HIGHWAY. REVEALING BUFFALO NEW YORK SIGN

SCENE 26

WE SEE THE WHITEHOUSE FARM IN DISTANCE. NOW PAINTED AND LOOKING LIKE
NEW.

WADES SISTER LENA OUTSIDE WEARING CLOTHING WITH A KNITTED CROSS. WAITING FOR A SCHOOL BUS COMING TO HALT. STOP SIGN OUT. WE SEE A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL GET OUT OF THE BUS, HURRYING TO HER MOTHERS ARM.

"I love you mom!", she says.

"I love you too Ann!", she says back. Looking at her lovingly.

Ann takes hold of her mothers hand and the two begin walking back towards the house.

WE HEAR THE VOICE OF ROLFE WHITEHOUSE SPEAK IN A MONOLOGUE AS THE CAMERA BEGINS TO FLY OUT FAST. ZOOMING TO THE SKY. TO FLY OVER SNOWY NEW HAMPSHIRE LANDSCAPE. OVER SNOWY LITTLE TOWNS, FROZEN LAKES, RIVERS AND FIELDS.

"What was going to happen next. Was not an end. Because there is no ending or beginning. Just
endless generations of people. Feeling emotions. Hurting each other. Loving each other.
Putting those feelings forward. Those feelings flowing through the generations. Through years.  Decades. Millenniums. Words that were said two thousand years ago. Still rippling through the fabric
of society in ways no man can ever understand. "

THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON A BIG CITY, TOWARDS A HOSPITAL WITH ARMED POLICE MEN STANDING IN CIRCLE AROUND IT.

THE CAMERA COMES TO A STOP AT THE MAIN ENTRY TO THE BUILDING.

WE SEE PATRICK RUNNER, JESSICA ANDREWS AND JACK LYNCH STANDING ON THE FRONT OF IT.

"You really think he is going to come here?", Patrick Runner asks from Jessica Andrews.

"If I think he is the man I think he is.", Jessica says.

"At this point. I do not know what to think.", Jack Lynch says.

"Well. These definitively are not the times of miracle and wonder.", Patrick says. Dryly.

"You never know.", Jessica says.

Suddenly a beat up Toyota Corolla from the eighties drives out of nowhere to the front of them
and stops.

We see Wade and Rolfe exit the car. Wade, falling in to the slush as he exits,
tired as a dog.

Rolfe has a weak smile on his face as he looks at Patrick, Jessica and Jack. Then at Wade to see
if he is ok. Then staring at the line of police men left and right. With their shotguns held up.

Jessica, Patrick And Jack look at Wade and Rolfe. Not believing their eyes.

Unable to read their play.

"FBI Put your hands up! Arrest these men", Jack shouts, pulling a gun from his holster. Pointing
it at the Wade and Rolfe.

Suddenly all the police men point their shotguns at the two.

Rolfe lifts his hands up, pointing backward at the driver with this thumb.

"It is Uber, can I pay him.", he asks with a scared smile.

"No you may not.", Jessica says. Pulling her gun out of her holster too.

"I can not believe my eyes.", Patrick says. Shaking his head. Drawing his gun
out too.

"You really think we are going to take you all.", Wade asks, dumbfounded,
his hands up.

"I just want to see my daughter.", he continues, barely coherent.

FINAL SCENE

WE SEE DEAD LOOKING WADE WHITEHOUSE STANDING OUTSIDE A HOSPITAL DOOR.

JUST LIKE LILLIAN. TRYING TO GATHER HIS COMPOSURE, BEFORE GOING IN.

TRYING TO MAKE HIS HAIR LOOK BETTER.

RIGHT BEHIND HIM IS JESSICA ANDREWS.

"She knows you are coming in.", Jessica says.

"There is a officer in the room just in case.", she continues.

"Do not try any funny business.",  she adds.

"I never was funny.", Wade says and coughs.

"Ok then. You can go in.", Jessica says.

Wade opens the door.

Walks in.

We see Jill look pale as a ghost, smiling at Wade as he walks in.

The door closes.

We do not see in.

THE END

ROLL CREDITS

The Boy In The Bubble by Paul Simon begins to play:

"It was a slow day
And the sun was beating
On the soldiers by the side of the road
There was a bright light
A shattering of shop windows
The bomb in the baby carriage
Was wired to the radio

These are the days of miracle and wonder
This is the long-distance call
The way the camera follows us in slo-mo
The way we look to us all
The way we look to a distant constellation
That’s dying in a corner of the sky
These are the days of miracle and wonder
And don’t cry baby don’t cry
Don’t cry

It was a dry wind
And it swept across the desert
And it curled into the circle of birth
And the dead sand
Falling on the children
The mothers and the fathers
And the automatic earth

These are the days of miracle and wonder
This is the long-distance call
The way the camera follows us in slo-mo
The way we look to us all
The way we look to a distant constellation
That’s dying in the corner of the sky
These are the days of miracle and wonder
And don’t cry baby don’t cry
Don’t cry

It’s a turnaround jump shot
It’s everybody jumpstart
It’s every generation throws a hero up the pop charts
Medicine is magical and magical is art
Thinking of the Boy in the Bubble
And the baby with the baboon heart

And I believe
These are the days of lasers in the jungle
Lasers in the jungle somewhere
Staccato signals of constant information
a loose affiliation of millionaires
And billionaires, and baby

These are the days of miracle and wonder
This is the long-distance call
The way the camera follows us in slo-mo
The way we look to us all, oh yeah
The way we look to a distant constellation
That’s dying in a corner of the sky
These are the days of miracle and wonder
And don’t cry baby don’t cry
Don’t cry, don’t cry
