Following a sombre morning at Hyde Park where they unveiled an Anzac Memorial, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled by boat to Cockatoo Island for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge.
The Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge decided the first medals of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018. The challenge took place against the dramatic backdrop of Sydney Harbour, with 24 competitors from 12 nations tested on their driving skills as well as their speed, precision, agility and teamwork whilst handling Jaguar vehicles.
They were welcomed by Invictus Games Foundation Chairman Sir Keith Mills, and CEO Dominic Reid.
There was an electric atmosphere on the Island for the beginning of the Games ahead of tonight's opening ceremony.
The Games showcase the positive impact sport has on the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women. Following the highly successful Invictus Games in London 2014, Orlando 2016 and Toronto 2017, the Sydney Games will involve 500 competitors from 18 nations competing for medals in 11 adaptive sports across Greater Sydney.
Harry and Meghan met competitors and their families.
They had the opportunity to chat with staff and volunteers.

Cockatoo Island is an extraordinary foreshore site protected and managed by the Harbour Trust. In 2010, the one-time penal establishment, reformatory school and naval ship dockyard was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, together with 10 other significant convict sites. Also known as Wareamah, meaning ‘women’s land’ in the Dharug language, Cockatoo Island has emerged as an iconic contemporary arts and live performance venue.

Getting into the spirit of the games, Meghan wore the official Invictus Sydney button up shirt.
Meghan's sunglasses are the Illesteva Palm Beach style.
The Duchess opted for a pair of The Looker Not Guilty Jeans by one of her go-to denim brands Mother Denim. The $196 style is described as "a classic skinny jean in a form fitting silhouette with super stretch fabric."
And the Duchess sported her Tabitha Simmons Millie Slingback pumps from this morning. The $695 style is described: "Set on a slim heel, this pair of Tabitha Simmon's pumps has a point-toe silhouette, bow-embellished heel and are crafted from black suede."
Meghan accessorised with stacking rings.

'The competition turned serious as Harry competed against two boys, one form Australian and another from Holland in a race across a track strewn with rocks and other obstacles. A chuckling prince enthusiastically pursued the boys' cars with his own calling out 'alright I'm coming, I'll catch you,' while sporting a giant grin.
The Prince was bested by 13-year-old Danyan Jones from Ballina in the NSW Northern Rivers whose father Jamie Tanner, 35, will represent Australia in the wheelchair tennis and rugby events. Mr Tanner was a soldier in the Australian army who served in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan before he was medically discharged in 2016 with terrible injuries and PTSD.
Danyan bragged about his victory after defeating Harry, who mostly enjoyed himself but looked frustrated at time during the friendly race. 'Harry was good at remote control cars, but I was better – obviously,' Danyan said.'
